SFBayWS Board Vice President Ceal Craig recently sat down with SF Gate to discuss the historic town of Drawbridge, often called the Bay Area’s last ghost town. Read the SF Gate article to learn more about Drawbridge and the challenges it is now facing as part of the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge. And remember: attempting to access Drawbridge via the train tracks is illegal and extremely dangerous. Instead, enjoy views of Drawbridge from the viewpoint at the Mallard Slough Trail, or purchase a ticket to take the commuter train.
Want to learn more? Ceal co-wrote Sinking Underwater: A Ghost Town’s Amazing Legacy. This book about Drawbridge is available for purchase at the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Contact Station, located at 2 Marshlands Rd., Fremont. You can also watch Ceal’s latest online presentation about Drawbridge.
