Native Seed Ball Workshop

Date:
Sunday, February 2, 2025 - 10:30am to 12:00pm
Venue:
Environmental Education Center at 1751 Grand Blvd, Alviso, CA 95002

Create seed balls with native wildflower seeds that you can take home or plant in the Butterfly Garden.

Seed balls are an easy and fun way to distribute seeds. We'll focus on creating seed balls with native wildflowers such as California poppies because they support a variety of insects and are critical for our local pollinators, such as bumblebees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

We'll walk you through all the steps and provide all materials for this family-friendly event. Just be prepared to get your hands a bit messy!

At the end of the event, you'll have the option to take your seed balls home, or we can use them around the Butterfly Garden at the Refuge.

Other Considerations:
* Restrooms will be available on-site in the form of an ADA-compliant portable toilet and hand-washing station.
* Because materials are limited, please register if you plan to attend and cancel if you can't make it.
* If you need any accommodations, please don't hesitate to reach out to watershedwatchers@sfbayws.org.

This program is brought to you by the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society (SFBWS) and the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program (SCVURPPP).
